“The Second Most FUN You Can Have in the Dark”
800-446-4159

Nite Lite Golf Tournaments & Events have offered many hours of fun, excitement, and increased revenue for thousands of golf clubs, courses and major resorts around the world for over 13 years.  Nite Lite golf ball plays and putts just like a regulation golf ball.  The Jumbo 1.5 inch Lightsticks allow the golf ball to glow 2.7 times brighter and is easier to see and find than any other night golf ball.  Golf Balls glow from 6-8 hours and there is no need to use a recharging mechanism.  Now, with the addition of colored light sticks, other golf games at night can be easily played.

To help organize a really successful NITE LITE Golf Tournament or Event, we have outlined some key questions and answers for you to think about:

  1. How many players do I need to have a tournament?

A successful Tournament should have at least 36 players in 4 person teams.  The number of players can increase to 72 for a nine hole Tournament.  Should your participation level increase beyond that amount, the number of holes played should be increased to accommodate players.  Should the number increase significantly, all 18 holes of the golf course can be played.  Tournaments are usually played in a shotgun scramble/best ball to speed up play.

  1. How many golf balls per person should I allocate?

The first thing to think about is the layout of your course.  Will a lot of water come in to play?  Are the fairways open or narrow?  Consider the ability and the number of players.  Rule of thumb is at least one golf ball per person and one extra per foursome.  However, if hazards (water) come into play, the number should be increased to at least 2 per person and 1 extra per team.

  1. How do I light up the Tee Boxes, Fairways, Greens and Players?

Giant Tee Markers are about 11 inches high and 8 inches around, and are an excellent tool to light the Tee Boxes.  These are re-usable by inserting a new 6” light stick into the Giant Tee.  The Giant Tees come with one 6” green light stick but can also be lit using red, blue, yellow or white 6” light sticks.

6” Green Lightsticks are used to light 150 yard markers and are attached to the top of the flagpoles.  One can also be taped to the middle of the flag pole for extra color.

Different Color Lightsticks can be used to mark hazard areas such as cart paths, water, bridges and especially sand traps that are located adjacent to greens.

6” Green Lightsticks are also used to light up the green.  Place Lightsticks on approach to greens at 2-3 foot intervals to identify the green and therefore allow payers to select the correct club.  This also adds a festive touch to the course.

3”  Light Circles can be used to light up  the cup.  Place the circle up against the flagpole and when the pole is pulled, circle will drop in the cup.  Last player putting replaces the flagpole and props up the circle for the next team of players.  6” Lightsticks can also be used here as well as a number of 1.5 inch sticks placed in the cup.

3” light circles are also used to  light up the golf carts.  Place one in the front and one in the back of the cart for safety.  Players can now see the cart in front of them.  Light up the beverage carts too.

22” Necklaces are used to light up the players.  Provide one necklace per player.  Necklaces come in tubes of 50 and are available in green and multi-color.  Extra necklaces are a good way to add extra color when wound down the flagpole.

22” Necklaces are also used to outline the perimeter of greens especially for large putting events when the entire greens are lit up in green.  Different colors can be used to identify other putting greens.  They are also used to decorate golf carts for use during the tournament, by attaching to the top and rails of the cart.

Tiki Torches and lighted candle sin bags also add a festive touch to fairways, tee boxes and hazard areas.

  1. How do I order replacement Lightsticks and golf balls?

Replacement 1.5” Jumbo light sticks are available in packs of 50 (or less).  6” replacement Lightsticks are also available in bags of 25 (green).  Other colors are packaged individually.  Please allow additional time for different colors.

  1. How long do I need to light the course?

You should begin to light the course at least 1 – 1 ½  hours prior to your tournament to allow sufficient time to place Lightsticks, etc. in desired locations.

  1. What other events can be played?

Major resorts host putting contests for parties of 200 persons or more, combining cocktails, food and music for a special evening event along with the greens that are lit with torches, lightsticks filled glowing balloons and more.   Closest-to-the-pin, Putting Challenges,  and Longest drives all make for great fund-raising activities.  Ask us for the Details!

  1. Is there anything else I need to know?

Ensure that players bring flashlights and that they are only used for direction.  No flashlights are to be used while playing.  Also hand out or read the Official Nite Lite Golf rules to your players prior to teeing off.  Thanks for playing Nite Lite Golf!  We appreciate your business!!

Nite Lite Golf Official Rules & Suggestions

  1. 1.   The purpose of Nite Lite Golf is to provide you with more FUN than you have ever had on a golf course.  If you do not laugh at least once while playing you will be banned for life.  Nite Lite Golf is the second most fun you can have in the dark.
  2. 2.   Bend the Jumbo 1.5” Lightsticks to activate and shake vigorously.  Insert the lightstick into the larger hole in the golf ball.  Use a tee to push the lightstick in all the way.  Center the lightstick in the ball with a tee.  Lightsticks can only go in one way.
  3. 3.   Use a 3 wood or 4 wood off the tee instead of a driver.  This way the ball will go further.  You can use your driver if you wish.
  4. 4.   Men usually need one club longer than hey would usually hit.  Ladies need 2 clubs longer.  The shorter the club, the closer the Nite Lite ball will travel as compared to a regular golf ball.
  5. 5.   Keep carts along the sides of fairways and walk over to your ball.  When crossing the fairway, travel at a 90 degree angle.
  6. 6.   Passenger in cart holds a flashlight to show the driver where to go.
  7. 7.   DO NOT SHINE FLASHLIGHTS on ball when hitting or putting.  No flashlights allowed on the green to read putts or when putting.
  8. 8.   When on the green, it is a good idea to let the best putter putt last.  The first one can putt right at the hole to see if there is any break.
  9. 9.   PLAY WINTER RULES
  10. 10.   Always tee off with your club face hitting parallel with the lightstickDO NOT HIT ON THE END OF THE LIGHTSTICK OR THE STICK MAY COME OUT!!  On all other shots, you are allowed to turn your ball so you will hit parallel with the lightstick.
  11. 11.  When leaving the green, blink your flashlights on ad off 6 times so the foursome behind you will know that you are leaving the green.
